Spring 2025 was nothing short of action-packed. We started the semester by jumping straight into E-board elections, and the energy never dipped from there. From orientations for COS and Khoury students to Winter Fest and monthly volunteering with Community Servings, we began the year by showing up for our community in every way.

Our GBM and Spring Info Session brought new faces and fresh energy, setting the tone for what was to come. Just days later, some of us had the chance to attend the New England GWiSE Winter Retreat, which gave us the perfect reset before a busy stretch of events.

February was full of creativity and connection. We hosted “Breaking Ground,” where members dressed up as their favorite female scientists and shared their stories shoutout to Vanshika and Priyanka for leading such an inspiring event. Alexa brought out the paint and the Valentine’s vibes with our Brushes and Bottles wine glass painting night, while Rhythm led a fun and cozy crafting mixer in collaboration with the LGBTQIA+ Center. We even hosted a Science Expo for school kids with the Center for STEM Education at Northeastern an amazing outreach experience.

To close out the month, we held a GBM with bookmark painting, giving us a colorful way to connect mid-semester. March started strong with East End House volunteering, where we prepped meals for local families. But the highlight of our semester was undoubtedly Week of Women, held from March 10–14 in honor of International Women’s Day.

Every single day that week brought a meaningful event. Viveka hosted a deeply impactful session on imposter syndrome and confidence building with Joy Tari Bagshaw. Reshma and Yash led a candle-making workshop that gave us all a moment of calm. NUPD joined us for “Empower and Defend,” helping us learn about personal safety and self advocacy. Emma curated the She Leads virtual panel, where we heard from inspiring women leaders. And we wrapped it up with a spirited Jeopardy Night, thanks to Alexa, Vanshika, and Priyanka. It was a week full of growth, joy, and reflection that we’ll never forget.

Later in the semester, we hosted a career panel in collaboration with the LGBTQIA+ Resource Center, and we raised funds at Relay for Life. Emma also represented us beautifully at the 3 Minute Thesis competition for PhD students.

April brought one of the biggest moments of the term our E-board elections for 2025–2026. We rounded things off with a super fun Tech Bio Trivia Night with KMSC and celebrated the ultimate honor: winning “Organization of the Year” at the 2025 Student Life Awards. Our final memory together? A joyful E-board retreat to close out a phenomenal year.

It’s been a semester full of teamwork, impact, and unforgettable memories. Here’s to the incredible Spring 2025 E-board and everything we accomplished together.

All the Best,
GWISE E-Board
